I think it's all about the hops. Set up your pins and use the others in the game to hop the longest distances possible to reach the other side quicker.

What I do is I set up my pieces in a certain way in the beginning so I waste as little movement as possible whilst keeping my group of pieces together (never leave a man behind because he can get stuck). Also when playing against an opponent I try to block them while going as far as I can.

When playing against the bot, Julia, I find that her moves are very predictable. She will most of the time take the biggest jump possible (but disregards strategic blocking) and she tends to set up her pieces in her endzone. If you find a way to win you can win everytime by repeating the same moves.
